Last Wednesday saw another visit to Brandon Camera Club for a follow on presentation demonstrating “Focus Stacking” in order to increase the depth of field in close up and macro photographs. By using both Photoshop CC and Helicon programmes members were able to see the effect both these programmes can have on the outcome of their images.

After an excellent cup of tea and slice of cake we took an opportunity to discuss the merits or otherwise of taking images in RAW and also to demonstrate three simple layer adjustments in Photoshop Elements that can be undertaken to get the best of out of an image. As we had a little time we discussed some of the things judges should consider when evaluating an image in club competitions. Once more the club’s members were keen to learn and hopefully now feel confident to experiment in the digital darkroom and really impress the judges with their photography skills.
